About the activity
Whale and dolphin watching
This stretch of the Indian Ocean is a rare global hotspot. Humpback whales pass between June and September, and hydrophones can be available to listen to their songs. Whale sharks cruise the coastline through the year, and oceanic manta rays glide through cleaning stations.
Resident pods of bottlenose and spinner dolphins often ride the bow wave, and five of the world's seven sea turtle species live in these waters. Outings keep a respectful distance and sightings are never guaranteed.
